All roads lead to whole.

Our Story

What began as a shared path between sisters Monica Palma and Rebecca Carmenate became a lifelong commitment to helping others find their way back to themselves.

Nearly two decades ago, our journey began at a treatment center where we were first introduced to the world of eating disorder and mental health care. What started as curiosity rooted in our backgrounds in psychology, quickly evolved into a deep and lasting passion. Day after day we had the privilege of walking alongside individuals with profoundly unique stories. Yet we noticed a common thread: many struggled with a sense of self often feeling unworthy, disconnected, and unsure of their place in the world.

Over time, our work became about more than recovery; it became about helping people rediscover their inherent value, their individuality, and the parts of themselves that deserved to be seen, nurtured, and celebrated.

Through years of experience across multiple levels of care, we also witnessed a critical gap. In structured treatment settings, clients often made meaningful progress, but once they returned home, sustaining that progress felt overwhelming. Families, too, were often left without the tools or confidence to provide effective support.

“We created Fresh Perspectives Collaborative to bridge that gap—to bring compassionate, individualized care into everyday life.”

Our work translates clinical recommendations into real-world action, helping clients build sustainable routines, meaningful connections, and a sense of purpose beyond disordered behaviors. Guided by the question, “What would we want for someone we love?”, we are committed to offering the same level of care, structure, and heart to every individual and family we support.

Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does.

Why Fresh Perspectives

The mental health field continues to evolve and so must the way we support people within it. While traditional treatment addresses stabilization and therapeutic intervention, many individuals are left navigating the complexities of real life without consistent reinforcement.

Fresh Perspectives Collaborative exists to provide the missing layer.

We specialize in the space between clinical care and sustainable independence. Our coaching model strengthens protective factors that research consistently associates with long-term recovery:

Ongoing structure & accountability

Reinforcement of therapeutic skills

Meal & exposure support in real world settings

Strengthening motivation during vulnerable seasons

Building community and connection

We do not replace clinical treatment — we enhance it.

Our approach is grounded in deep experience across all levels of care and guided by a commitment to thoughtful innovation. We understand both the science of recovery and the lived experience of it. We know where gaps tend to form and we intentionally step into those spaces.

Fresh Perspectives Collaborative is not just about preventing relapse. It’s about fostering restoration, resilience, and empowered independence.

MISSION

To provide individualized, ethically grounded, and deeply compassionate coaching and consulting services that bridge the gap between clinical treatment and sustainable recovery — empowering individuals and families to build lasting stability, resilience, and freedom in their relationship with food, body, and self.

VISION

We envision a mental health landscape where recovery means true restoration — empowering individuals to live balanced, connected, and liberated lives beyond treatment. Through this work, we elevate coaching as a vital extension of care, expanding access to thoughtful, collaborative support nationwide.

Everything we do is guided by 6 Core Pillars

  • No two recovery journeys are identical. We honor complexity and tailor care to the individual — not the diagnosis.

  • We lead with warmth, patience, and deep respect for the courage recovery requires.

  • With over 16 years across all levels of care, we combine clinical understanding with forward-thinking support models.

  • We uphold the highest standards of training, supervision, and collaboration.

  • We practice what we teach — transparency, accountability, and honesty guide our relationships.

  • Recovery thrives in unified care. We work closely with families and treatment providers to ensure alignment and clarity.
